Calabria and Sicily, a cultural “bridge” to enhance the two southernmost regions of Italy

PALERMO – A bridge for culture between Calabria and Sicily. In this spirit, a double cultural initiative will be held in the autumn that will see the two southernmost regions of Italy as protagonists. “A major event is planned that will take place over two stages, one Sicilian and one Calabrian, and which will have the theme of a common vision, starting from Greek culture and a cultural project that already sees Calabria and Sicily together for a possible development, starting precisely from the themes of culture and the enhancement of identity », says a note.

The initiative, commissioned by the President of the Calabria Region, Nino Spirlì, and by the Councilor for Cultural Heritage and Sicilian Identity, Alberto Samonà, was planned during a meeting that was held in the past few hours in Rome.

In addition to Spirlì and Samonà, the director of the Soriano Calabria museum complex, Mariangela Preta, delegate for the Calabria Region to organize this event, also participated in the meeting. In the course of the meeting, to which he has
also took part in the director of the Mediterranean Archaeological Tourism Exchange, Ugo Picarelli, it was also agreed that Calabria and Sicily will be present together at the next edition of the Exchange, scheduled for the end of September, in Paestum.
