Car incentives, longer registration times: now everything is easier

ROME – Longer deadlines for the registration of cars benefiting from the incentives. This is foreseen by a provision of the decree on tax simplifications, passed into cdm, proposed by the development minister Giancarlo Giorgetti. In the procedures for the disbursement of bonuses for the purchase of non-polluting vehicles under the responsibility of the Mise, the terms for confirming the operation and for communicating the details of the purchase are extended from 180 to 270 days. “We have followed up on a need raised by several parties”, says Giorgetti, specifying that the law “does not include expenses”. The extension is made necessary by the lack of some components.

The extension was expected and, according to the Mise, it became necessary due to the lack of some production components. According to the law, the terms for confirming the operation and for communicating the license plate number of the new vehicle delivered as well as the tax code of the manufacturer or importer of the vehicle, starting from the booking governed by the decree of the Minister of Economic Development 20 March 2019, are set at 270 days, also in derogation of the provisions in force on the date of entry into force of this provision.
“The current objective situation of a shortage of some components has made it necessary to take an emergency measure for a broader general term, which is set at 270 days. A rule that does not provide for new expenses. Good acceptance by the government”, underlines Giorgetti.
