ROMA – Promote the transition of fleets to electricity and guide companies towards the composition of a fleet of cars open to innovative solutions. This is the goal for which ALD Automotive Italia in 2021 decided to invest heavily in Corporate Carsharing, a service that has the potential to lead the way in green mobility, bringing companies closer to new engines.
The service is gaining ground on a European level. Italy started early, having been the leader in the conception and promotion of the project at Group level. The requests for ALD Corporate Carsharing have grown by about 10% in the last 3 years, with a penetration rate of alternative fuel, hybrid and electric cars, of about 25%. More generally, ALD has set ambitious goals for the presence of electric cars in its fleet. With the Move 2025 plan, it aims to raise the share of electrified vehicles to 30% in 5 years, by 2030 to have at least 50% of ‘green’ cars and to reduce emissions by at least 40% compared to those of 2019. For spreading the electricity ALD focuses on products tailored to the customer, which help companies to overcome the perplexities and doubts related to infrastructural deficiencies. For this reason, with ALD Green, also through partnerships with the main electricity operators, ALD offers a product integrated with the charging infrastructure, also providing ad hoc assistance for the management of the service.
Corporate Car Sharing is an important element of the electric strategy since it allows to optimize the fleet, reduce the total cost of mobility and develop green mobility. The smartphone application and the MyALD web platform make using ALD Carsharing easy to use for both Fleet Managers and drivers. Furthermore, with the Multiparking service, each driver has the possibility to close the trips in Carsharing or in a company parking lot or in one of strategic interest for the company, for example at the airport or station.
However, Carsharing is not the only lever to favor the green transition. The strategy for the diffusion of electricity also involves new flexible solutions, created to respond to the changing needs of companies and individuals in this particular period. In particular, Ald Flex, ALD’s medium-term product, by offering shorter, flexible and penalty-free contracts represents a useful invitation to convince those who are intrigued and tempted by the new engines to try the electric. A path towards sustainability that ALD has decided to take in first person, given that it will soon convert the entire fleet of its management to hybrid and electric.
