Catania Book Festival starts again on May 23: some meetings already sold out

Catania – The confirmation of Sicily in the yellow zone arrives just in time which allows the Catania Book Festival to be the first cultural event in Catania (and one of the first in Italy) to take place in presence according to the safety rules for participants in literary meetings scheduled from 21 to 23 May at the Gallery of Modern Art in Catania.

A first record is already there and it is certainly that of timing. But the program also has well-known names this year, with over 30 meetings, more than double those of the 2020 edition, with well-known names, national firsts and many surprises. The first is certainly that of Camihawke, already sold out with online bookings and which will present for the first time in Southern Italy “For all the rest of my mistakes” published by Mondadori. “In order to welcome all the participants while maintaining our safety standards, we have even planned two meetings, thanks to the availability of Camilla and Mondadori” – commented Simone Dei Pieri, director of the Catania Book Festival.

The opening day will also bring, among others, the first national presentation of 2021 by Luca Bizzarri, the historic face with Paolo Kessisoglu of Le Iene, Camera Caffè and films such as Immaturi, in his first novel. Also scheduled are the presentations of two candidates for the Strega 2021 Award, Giulia Caminito and Mattia Insolia, also at the first presentation in attendance of the year.

Instead, the Festival will open on the morning of Friday 21st, with a meeting with Professor Giovanna Giordano, nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2020.

Among the well-known faces also Alessandro Cecchi Paone, Danilo Bertazzi, Giulio Mosca (aka Il Baffo), Gianluca Gazzoli and many others, in a program to be discovered and which day after day will be revealed until the dates of the Festival.
