Corraini wins the 50 Books – 50 Covers competition

by admin

If you are looking for an illustrated book for children, it cannot be missing in the library of a budding designer Case in sale published by Corraini together with CCA – Canadian Center for Architecture (128 pp, 32 euros). A volume in which the pair of authors, the architects Michael Meredith e Hilary Sample, has managed – thanks to the strength of the illustrations – to clearly tell the little ones the complex projects of the houses that have made the history of architecture, ranging from examples designed by Frank Lloyd Wrigh to Rem Koolhaas, from Le Corbusier to Alvar Aalto and Charles and Ray Eames. The result? In the pages “everything has been thought and rethought, worked and reworked again, and for this reason we can consider the book a metaphor of the architectural discipline and its constant research”, comment the curators.

A volume that has not gone unnoticed even byAiga. The American Institute of Graphic Arts, which since 1923 selects every year the fifty books that stand out for their excellence in book and cover design, has awarded Case in sale for both categories of the competition 50 Books – 50 Covers. A hardcover edition, printed in 5 colors, black edges and capital in bright color, now part of the permanent collection of the AIGA Design Archives and of the Rare Book and Manuscript Library of Columbia University.
