Liang Haiyuan, talk show actor, chief screenwriter of Xiaoguo Culture. On the evening of July 1, Liang Haiyuan’s solo performance “The Man Sitting in the Corner” was performed in Chengdu, which was well received by the audience. After the performance, Liang Haiyuan accepted an exclusive interview with the cover reporter in the background, sharing his understanding of talk show creation.

Cover news:During the performance, you said that you can’t write it yourself, how do you overcome this creative bottleneck?
Liang Haiyuan:In fact, everyone will have a creative bottleneck. If you just write as you like, your creation may become worthless. Precisely because creation is difficult, it is precious. Faced with this situation, it is necessary to experience life more. Everyone faces different situations, some people may need to experience life a little more, some people may just need to spend a little more time on it, and some people may not be so efficient because they write alone, then go to Find a partner. I don’t think there is a unified method to overcome the creative bottleneck, and it needs to be pondered and thought about by oneself.
Cover news:Your solo tour is called “The Man in the Corner.” Do you enjoy being alone?
Liang Haiyuan:I think the state of being empty is very enjoyable. But for example, when I go climbing a mountain or go to dinner, I suddenly think of a good joke that I want to share with you. This is also a good and happy thing. The state of emptiness is to relax yourself and let these inspirational things enter your mind. The remaining parts may arouse your interest and write them into jokes, and the purpose is not so strong.
Cover news:It feels that your offline performance is very different from the performance in “Talk Show Conference”. Is there a big difference in the mentality of offline and online performances?
Liang Haiyuan:For me, offline is everyone playing together, everyone having fun together, and the purpose is to have fun with everyone. When we were recording the show, I wanted to be recognized by others, I wanted the laughing man to shoot the lights, and I wanted the audience to vote for me more, so there would be different pressures. Moreover, for online performances, the audience will not talk to you casually, or there are some emergencies that you need to resolve, which are basically a relatively fixed situation. But in the offline special session, I may chat with the audience, maybe a certain audience will laugh a little louder here, or if something happens, I will make a few jokes with him, it is a process of interaction.
Cover news:Someone might think you’re an introvert because of your performance on your online shows. But you have been performing on stage for so many years, and you love the stage very much, right?
Liang Haiyuan:Introversion and desire for the stage are actually not in conflict. Many talk show actors are very introverted, everyone is afraid of socializing with others, and even taking the subway does not want to take the same subway with each other. This introversion means that we don’t like the routine of socializing and active sales, but we still have some desire for expression in our hearts. We want to share a certain point of view, a certain funny thing with you on stage. The expression of the talk show is one-way, and there is less severe social pressure for us. I sometimes think that introverts may spend more time thinking about some of the problems they face, so they can express something different to everyone, and let everyone have their own characteristics.
Cover news:Someone said before that you are more suitable to be behind the scenes. Do you find a balance between the stage and the backstage?
Liang Haiyuan:I feel that as long as you stand on the stage, people will give you various evaluations. It might be good, it might be something you want to hear, it might be something you don’t want to hear. The opinions of others are just a reference for you, and in the end, only your own heart knows what you want to do the most. I think I can do it behind the scenes, and I’m happy in front of the stage, so I’ll do every show well.
Cover news:The solo performance of “The Man Sitting in the Corner” has been liked by many audiences. Will there be similar performance plans in the future?
Liang Haiyuan:This is my first tour of the year, maybe to a certain extent I will still write new things, because I think it feels good to create. And I admire Yu Hua, Mo Yan and other peak figures in the history of Chinese literature, they are still insisting on creating. Therefore, since we are engaged in a creative industry, we need to spend a lot of time and energy on creation every year, and we have to find some fun in it. I hope I can find such a state – not to create for what, but to enjoy the process of creation.
