A cross between the Joker and The Devil wears Prada

As the minutes pass, “Cruella” becomes more and more tangible a sort of cross between the “Joker” with Joaquin Phoenix and “The devil wears Prada”, so much so that the relationship that is established between the Baroness and Estella closely resembles the one between the characters of Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in the previous film. It is a story of revenge that staged by “Cruella”, but the costumes and choreographies of the performance of the budding designer count (clearly) more than the narration, in addition to the combination of images and songs selected with great care (the column sound is really rich in choices of great beauty that refer to the sixties and seventies).

Fans can be satisfied, also for the good performance of Emma Stone (Cruella) and Emma Thompson (the Baroness), even if in the narration there is an important twist of the scene really forced and various sequences definitely too many, which give the feeling of a certain redundancy.

In any case, the film manages to entertain and does its duty, but a few scissors here and there (not in the clothes, but in the editing) would certainly have helped.

The Divine Codino

The many fans of Roberto Baggio, on the other hand, have been waiting for a long time for the release of “Il Divin Codino”, a film now available on Netflix focusing on the career of one of the greatest icons of Italian football. and as many pains, Letizia Lamartire’s film focuses on some fundamental moments in Baggio’s life, with particular attention to the 1994 World Cup. The staging is simple, the film is decidedly didactic, but for fans it is a product not to be missed. , capable of thrilling and reviving truly legendary moments.

Andrea Arcangeli is credible in the role of Baggio and skilled in recreating the psychology of a man and a footballer that is anything but trivial to interpret.
