Daniele Del Giudice, the well-known writer died of illness

Daniele Del Giudice is dead: writer, critic and journalist would have been awarded next Saturday at the Campiello for his career. After working for Paese Sera he made his debut in literature in 1983 with the novel Wimbledon stadium, discovered by Italo Calvino and published (like all his books) by Einaudi, would not have gone. He had been seriously ill for some time. He was 72 years old.

Del Giudice has obtained numerous awards including the Viareggio Opera Prima Prize in 1983, the Giovanni Comisso Literary Prize in 1985, the Bergamo Prize in 1986, the Bangutta in 1995 and, twice, in 1994 and 1997, he was selected precisely for Campiello. In 2002, he received the Feltrinelli Prize from the Accademia dei Lincei for fiction.
