A singular short film written, directed and performed by Massimiliano Finazzer Flory on the Divine Comedy, entitled “Dante for our fortune”. It was screened last night, Monday 28 February, starting at the Diana Cinema in Savona. Before the screening, the author and director took the audience on a sort of journey through Dante Alighieri’s work. In fact, in his work, Finazzer Flory wanted to tell Dante’s Divine Comedy through the eyes of a child: a way to make the most important Italian literary work of all time even more current and close to us.

Finazzer Flory’s work is in fact a journey through the twenty-one most significant songs of Dante’s work, whose atmosphere is underlined by contemporary dance choreography and original music, aimed at making the viewer perceive the meaning of Dante’s journey. Massimiliano Finazzer Flory and Angelica Cacciapaglia, voiceovers, interpreted passages by the Supreme Poet, in verse and in prose.

The evening, in the presence of some city authorities, also saw a brief speech by Professor Jacopo Marchisio, a refined intellectual from Savona, who highlighted the most current features of Dante’s vision and the expressive power of his work.

Finally, there was the intervention of Alessandra Brandone, senior private banker of Banca Generali and organizer of the event, on the propensity of Banca Generali to actively support art and culture, through institutional or territorial initiatives such as this one.
