Design according to Audi: the regeneration of materials and the future of autonomous driving

MILAN – The regeneration of materials, resources and objects is essential for the development of a circular economy focused on better ecological protection and in the context of the Design Week scheduled in Milan from 6-13 June, the Audi House of Progress, inside of the new spaces of The Medelan in Piazza Cordusio, will propose the vision of the German manufacturer towards the different forms of progress and renewal.

At the center of the dialectical, technological and figurative confrontation addressed by Audi in conjunction with the Milanese event, there will be first and foremost the evolution of sustainability; a broad and often abused concept that requires concrete action to support intentions. In this respect, both the historic building (recently renovated to minimize its environmental footprint) chosen as the home of the House of Progress as the future development theorems of the brand with the four rings, are consistent with the initiative.

Within the 1,500 square meters of multifunctional space, the House of Progress will represent the directions taken by the company both in the industrial landscape and in the relationship with its work in relation to society, people and the planet. The business model’s route focuses decisively on connected mobility and the achievement of zero-emission travel, with the addition of all-round services. At the same time, the guests of the Milanese house of Audi will be able to explore the concept of ReGeneration expressed by spaces, furnishings and solutions living, as well as visiting the Design Re Generation exhibition of Interni magazine (of which Audi is co-producer).

During the seminars and bread, the public will be able to discuss the issues of the future with Marc Lichte (Audi Global Head of Design) Johanna Klewitz, (Audi Coordinator for Sustainability) and Henrik Wenders (Vice President Audi AG) who during the event , will present their perspective on entrepreneurial responsibility and the role of communication in transformation processes. The question of what we will bequeath to the new generations will be able to find further answers in the three thematic areas of the House of Progress. The first, called Re-generate our planetexplores the vision of a carbon neutral supply chain and the use of renewable energy. Re-generate our society explores social issues such as diversity, inclusion and education while Re-generate our lives it relates the needs of man with those of industrial design.

In presenting the different interpretations on the future of the planet, society and the individual, the brand with the four rings will also propose an unprecedented approach to design in which the environments are conceived as private spheres to restore both personal habitability and the necessary creative impulses that they tend to favor ideas, renewal and innovation. Finally, alongside the thoughts and conceptual visions of the House of Progress, there will be the physical presence of the A6 Avant e-tron concept. The prototype of the famous fully electric Audi family car will be exhibited together with the Audi grandsphere for two futuristic Italian premieres.

As with the skysphere and urbansphere concepts, the grandsphere interprets the next mobility in the luxury segment, through an inside-out design supported by pioneering solutions, level 4 autonomous driving and a digital ecosystem that according to the Ingolstadt company , will guarantee passengers of the future sedan-coupe unprecedented entertainment and communication experiences.
