In a recent interview with MovieMaker, Robert Pattinson mentioned how his role in The Batman is different from the previous Batman.

Robert Pattinson admits that his Batman may be darker than audiences expected, saying of how his character came to be: “I don’t know why Matt watched Good Time and thought, ‘I want to make a Dirty, slimy Batman.ā€™ā€ Then director Matt Reeves said, ā€œIt was kind of a fate. Of course, we were still writing the script at the time, so there was nothing to share. But about 8 months later I met with him and shared the script, and that’s when we made a real connection.”

His ‘Dark Batman’ comment came after a previous interview where he mentioned that his version of Batman always endured killing, explaining: “Batman has this rule: he can’t kill. This can be understood as two way, either he wanted to execute the proper punishment, or he wanted to kill, but his self-control prevented him from doing so. I imagined it this way in the first fight rehearsal, and I thought it was funny: something in him wanted to Cut each other’s throats! I tell myself if he’s chasing criminals all night, he can’t not be having fun.” He also said that Bruce Wayne is more of Batman’s alter ego.

In a recent interview, director Matt Reeves said, “I respect the DC Universe being an extended universe and all the movies have some kind of connection, but now another Batman movie, it shouldn’t carry those movies. The weight of the connection, I donā€™t want to put them in.ā€ He also mentioned taking inspiration from 1970s classics like ā€œThe French Connection,ā€ ā€œChinatown,ā€ and ā€œTaxi Driver,ā€ and for character inspiration he mentioned Nirvana Vocals Kurt Cobain and Robert Pattinson:

“While writing the film, I watched Good Time and thought, ‘He has an inner sense of anger and danger that connects to this character, and I can feel this desperation’ and then I decided it was Robert but I’m not sure if Robert is interested in doing these kinds of films! Because he’s only done indie films after Twilight got his footing.”

Matt Reeves concluded by adding that whoever announced the Batman role would be met with backlash, saying: “For those who are excited, I know because they know what Robert is doing after Twilight. For those who are not excited, I They know because they don’t know what Robert’s been doing after Twilight.” “The Batman” will be released in Taiwan on March 2, followed by Hong Kong on March 3, so interested readers may wish to pay more attention.
