Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” live-action movie set for 2023

Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” live-action movie is finalized and will be released in North America on May 26, 2023.


The film is adapted from the classic Disney animation “The Little Mermaid”. It tells the story of the young mermaid Ariel making a deal with the sea witch, exchanging his voice for his legs to discover the human world. The live-action version of “The Little Mermaid” is directed by Rob Marshall (“Chicago”, “Memoirs of a Geisha”, “Fantasy Black Forest”), screenwriter by Jane Goodman (“Ace Agent”, “X-Men: First Class”), Lin -Manuel Miranda and Disney legendary composer Alan Manken will write new songs.
