Double opening in Milan for Dolce & Gabbana Casa

The dream would have been to open in time for the 2021 Christmas season at least one of the two stores dedicated to the Dolce & Gabbana home line. But times were really too tight, even for those who, like the two stylists-entrepreneurs and their collaborators, are used to setting themselves very ambitious goals. As often happens, taking a little more time helps to achieve the best results: April 6 was the big day of the inauguration, in Milan, of two stores dedicated to the newborn. Dolce & Gabbana House , the first in the world, which could be followed by others. One is in corso Venezia (photo above), where the space used to be (from beyond 1,200 square meters) dedicated to women’s pret-à-porter and junior collections; the second is in via Durini, on the opposite side of piazza San Babila and for decades a street “specialized” in furniture-design shops. In the first there are all the accessories, a term used in the sector that includes small furniture but also textile or kitchen accessories. In the case of Dolce & Gabbana they are twill and duchesse cushions, printed quilts, sets of glasses in Murano glass mouth blown and Sicilian ceramic plates for a complete mise en place, scented candles and accessories in lacquered wood. In the second shop there is the furniture: from the large fabric sofas to the lacquered oak tables, up to the equipped bar furniture. The collection and the boutique in via Durini are the result of the partnership between Dolce & Gabbana and Luxury Living Group a leading company in the luxury and lifestyle furniture segment.

From Venice to Milan

The debut of the Dolce & Gabbana home collection was in Venice at the end of August: the designers had decided to combine the presentation of furniture and accessories with days dedicated to high fashion, haute couture, high jewelery and watches, uniting the classic fashion public ( journalists, operator of the sector and of course customers, who came from all over the world) that of design. And there were many who were amazed, precisely among those who are used to seeing the news in the sector. Pleasantly surprised, of course: because the home collection is the result of the creativity of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, combined with artisan and manufacturing know-how of Italian wood-furniture and is a clearly ambitious and long-term project.

Four themes (to start)

Mediterranean Blue, Leopard (above), Sicilian cart (photo above), Zebra: these are the four themes of the Dolce & Gabbana Casa collection presented in preview in Venice and which evoke the lifestyle, respect for tradition and innovation that have always been part of the brand’s DNA, as underlined by the two stylists since their debut in the Lagoon. The outfitting of the Corso Venezia store, in particular, may change frequently, also including other initiatives and partnerships of the brand, such as the small appliances made for years with Smeg and the numerous “forays” infood and wine. And then Easter is approaching and chocolate eggs will almost certainly pop up in boutiques, like the one created with Perugina chocolate kisses, second chapter of the collaboration that began with a Dolce & Gabbana version of the famous chocolates with message (in this case all short sentences signed, in fact, by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana).
