The companies and employees of the production and commercial chains of the automotive, foundries, industrial machinery, energy and electric mobility have launched an appeal to the Draghi government to define a structural plan for electric mobility, “of vital importance for not to interrupt the growth trend of recent years when a rapid acceleration towards the ecological transition is necessary ”. They renamed it Manifesto. And it was signed by various trade associations, starting with Anfia, which represents the chain of companies in the sector, and then Anie, Assofond, Class Onlus, Motur-E, Ucimu and Adiconsum, the consumers’ association. “In the Budget Law there is no strategy – they say – without structural interventions, most likely in 2022 the market share of zero or very low emission vehicles will plummet: while last year it started with a share of 4.7% and ended with 13.6% in December, this year risks settling on values ​​between 6 and 7%, far from forecasts for other European countries “. The associations also point the finger at the absence of initiatives to provide Italy with an effective and efficient network of recharging points, including private ones. “The total absence of planning and adequate measures at the historical moment and the industrial, economic and social weight of the sectors represented is strategically dangerous. The government must intervene immediately with an action plan and give an important signal to the country ”, say the signatories.

Three proposals that are part of the manifesto. The first. continuation of the eco-bonus in the three-year period 2022-2024. The second. continuation of the tax credit of 50% for households, small businesses and VAT numbers and a measure for the development of recharging within condominiums. It should also be added the inclusion of charging costs in the corporate welfare systems, as is already the case today for fuel cards, and the provision of a specific electric tariff dedicated to private mobility, similar to the domestic tariff. The third proposal concerns the industrial front: for the transition of companies in the supply chain, “measures to support industrial reconversion and workers, indispensable in order not to lose competitiveness” are needed.

The signatories argue that “without these three pillars of interventions, the development of electric mobility risks being blocked, interrupting the growth of a market which, from 2018 to today, has doubled its value every year and on which the commitments made by the ‘Italy at the European level for the reduction of emissions by 2030 ”. The risk for associations is to penalize many citizens, completely excluding them from access to the most efficient technologies that would not be competitive without incentives, to lose employment due to the inevitable drop in demand, to prevent the development of emerging sectors linked to services related to electric mobility. . “In practice, – the signatories conclude – strong competitiveness gaps would be generated with respect to the rest of Europe instead of focusing on electric mobility as an opportunity for growth”.
