ROME – The European alliance for electric batteries so far consists of 70 projects that are expected to create 3-4 million jobs by 2025. This was indicated by the vice-president of the commission Maros Sefcovic, informing about the discussions that took place yesterday with several EU ministers.
Sefcovic added that the production of lithium-ion batteries has shown the greatest progress and, by 2025, “we are now set to become the second largest battery cell manufacturer in the world, behind China. In addition, nearly 30 announced projects are expected to largely meet EU demand for electric mobility batteries.
