The works of British artist Yuschif make good use of bright and vivid colors to express the joy and vitality of the aborigines of Taiwan. The bold use of colors can be seen in Yushif’s work. “Blue is the color of the Pacific Rim, yellow is rice wave and pineapple, green is banana tree, red is dragon fruit, red quinoa…” said Yushif, these are tribes. Color is the color of Taiwan, and it is also his creative inspiration. Many people ask him where he learned it from color. He replied, “The most beautiful color science comes from nature!”

The Cultural Bureau of the Yilan County Government stated that this exhibition is titled “Embrace”, focusing on the alienated state in the epidemic era, and is committed to turning art into a love “embrace” in the post-epidemic era. The caring and inspiration of the series, the content of the exhibition will speak out to the world with “painting”, “photography”, “fashion”, “art installation”, “cross-border cooperation”, “cultural creation” and other diversified works, using brand new vocabulary Tell the life story and abundant artistic energy of Uschiff.
Yushifu was born in the Matelin tribe in Yuli Township, Hualien County. He is the first Amis contemporary artist to officially leap onto the international stage. He is also one of the very few creators who are active in the international art scene with the theme of the original Taiwanese in Europe. For this exhibition, Mr. Yusif took the risk of the epidemic and returned to Taiwan from the UK, bringing us nearly a hundred new creations, classic works over the years, and collaborations with artists and designers from different fields. Most particularly, his photographic works were exhibited in Taiwan for the first time.
The curator Li Yunyi pointed out that more than 90 works in this exhibition are the most complete collection and reproduction of the cross-border road created by Uschiff in the past ten years. Among them, 30 works have never been published by Uschiff, combining photography and painting. The latest work with mixed media is that of Yuscheff’s visit to the Pacific Islands, taking portraits of local artists, with inspiration from the universe and nature such as the ocean, mountains and forests, and the sun and moon as the main axis. Through the vision of Yuscheff’s strong colors and neat lines, the viewer is called to re-watch and think about’I and Taiwan’,’Taiwan and the World‘, and’People at this moment when global human civilization is completely overturned by the epidemic.
