Farewell to the entrepreneur and wife of the former mayor of Cuneo Elio Rostagno

The Cuneo-based entrepreneur Ornella Arzani, long-time vice president of the Elettrosì company, died of cancer this night (Saturday 13 November), in her home in Viale Angeli, in Cuneo. He would have turned 71 on Thursday. She was the wife of Elio Rostagno, former mayor of Cuneo and former regional councilor, with whom she had shared her life and entrepreneurial career.

In September, the discovery of the disease and the beginning of treatment, faced with great courage and dignity. Then the decision to be followed at home by the palliative care facility of the Hospice in Busca. His condition has plummeted in the last few days.

Born in Milan, of a Piacenza family, she moved with her parents first to Beinette, then to Cuneo, where she attended schools and met her future husband Elio Rostagno. They married very young on May 5, 1969 (she was 18, he was 22) they built a family together and together with Elio’s brother, Elettrosì, a company in the electrical distribution sector, of which Ornella was appreciated and esteemed vice president. She was a great lover of politics and constantly followed the long path of her husband, mayor of Cuneo (1995-2002), then provincial councilor (1999-2009) and regional councilor (2005-2010 and from March 2013 to May 2014).

A woman of profound culture, she also loved music, reading, cinema and had traveled all over the world.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her daughters Roberta and Alessandra, her brother Giancarlo and grandchildren.

The farewell ceremony with a civil ceremony will take place on Monday 15 November, at 10, in the Sala San Giovanni in via Roma, in Cuneo. Cremation at the Magliano Alpi temple will follow. The family thanks “all the people, doctors and nurses who have been close to us in various ways, showing incredible sensitivity, humanity and professionalism”.
