ROME – New special Ferrari project. The Maranello house has created a unique book dedicated to the iconic Monza SP1 / SP2, one of the most spectacular cars in its history, recounting its inspiration, evolution and creation. The work, starting from the first sketches made by the Style Center, tries to make the reader feel sensations such as the extreme heat of the foundry, the speed of the breathtaking curves of the Mugello circuit and the beauty of the surrounding Tuscan countryside, all collected in a exclusive product documenting a very special Ferrari.
The elegant volume also tells the story of some of the first competitions in which Ferrari participated, accompanied by a series of exceptional images, among the most significant ever taken in motorsport, together with insights into the lives of great personalities who contributed to create the myth of the original Monza and its rivals at the dawn of the house of the prancing horse. “It is a very particular car – declared Flavio Manzoni, Ferrari chief design officer – it has a totally different architecture. The most interesting thing for me was not to recall the form from the past, but to create something absolutely new. My team and I were aware that we had the opportunity to create a truly pure, sensual model. The past is a very important universal force for Ferrari, as is a modern and original approach ”.
The publication “Ferrari Monza SP1 / SP2” is a single volume, like the car to which it is dedicated (an authentic sculpture in motion), so the book is presented as a work of art, enhanced by the unprecedented large format with a high quality Italian eco-friendly paper. Among other things, the book is full of details inspired by the car itself: from the carbon fiber binding, to the rib made with the same leather used for the interior of the Monza to the elegant outer case, all covered in Alcantara.
In short, a limited edition of 260 pages that fans of the “reds” of Maranello and beyond, cannot lose, also in consideration of the limited edition of 499 units, the same number of SP1 / SP2 copies made.
