In every corner of the world the fame of the mother of all city cars continues to grow and so to give thousands of fans the opportunity to be part of this passion, the Fiat 500 Club Italia has decided to transform the 38th edition of the “Fiat 500 International Meeting” in Garlenda in a widespread and global event. Unfortunately, due to the persistence of the Sars-CoV-2 pandemic, the largest annual gathering dedicated to the historic 500, which attracted over a thousand crews from all over Europe to the Ligurian hinterland, it will not be able to take place in its classic guise, which is why it has been transformed into something new, namely the first “Fiat 500 World Wide Meeting”.
The appointment is set for next 2 to 4 July, from Italy to Japan, from Finland to South Africa, with over one hundred events that are taking place in recent weeks at the headquarters of the Fiat 500 Club Italia and, in less than a month from launch of the initiative, already 21 foreign clubs dedicated to the historic 500 have responded with the usual enthusiasm that characterizes the community. “Everything is still in progress, but we can already give some previews – explain the organizers – In Japan the event will be held at the 500 Museum in Nagoya. In the Netherlands, where three rallies are planned, around 100 cars will meet at the Government Palace in The Hague. In Switzerland, the gathering will be at the Gotthard Pass and will allow the Ticino residents to meet colleagues from the German cantons and Liechtenstein. Uruguay will also be present with the Fiat 500 gardener of the former state postal service. On the other side of the world, there will be the Cinquecentisti of the Italian Made Social Motoring Club of Sydney, Australia, and also in South Africa the fans of the historic 500 are in turmoil to prepare their presence ”.
