Fiat in the UK, only electrified vehicles on sale from July

ROME – Electrification is now supplanting traditional internal combustion engines and the number of car manufacturers announcing the end of the sale of classic engines is growing. Precisely in this sense, Fiat has just announced the end of sales of all non-electrified vehicles in the United Kingdom as early as July 1st, the date on which the entire range of the Turin-based company will be available in electrified forms, from hybrids to completely electric.

It should be noted that last year, over 60% of the Fiat range was electrified and offered at least one low-emission version of each model for UK users. This year, the Lingotto company, in line with its strategy, takes a further step forward by confirming that 100% of the range will be electrified starting from July 2022. The electrification process of the brand was started with the 500 Hybrid and the Panda Hybrid, and continued with the all-electric New 500, followed more recently by the new urban Suv 500X and the Tipo Hybrid.

Today, the made in Italy brand offers at least one low-emission version for each model and takes a further step forward on the path of energy transition and sustainable mobility with the latest announcement of the sale of electrified models only in the United Kingdom starting from this. summer. On the other hand, the success achieved by the all-electric New 500 was overwhelming: with thirty international awards it is the best-selling electric city car in eleven countries and the second best-selling electric car in Europe in any segment, preceded only by Tesla.

And as if that weren’t enough, at home and in France it is the best-selling electric model ever, while it ranks second in Germany, the largest electric car market in the Old Continent. “This step in the history of Fiat marks a crucial point in our commitment to providing accessible and sustainable mobility solutions for all our customers – underlined Greg Taylor, to Fiat and Abarth United Kingdom – The choice lends itself to our vehicles particularly suited to urban areas, driven by the popularity of the New 500 ”.
