ROME – Ford Puma on the podium. The bestseller of the blue oval was crowned queen of the Opinion Leaders of Auto Europa 2021 during the presentation of the Ford Mustang Mach-e in Rome. The trophy was handed over to Francesco Faltoni, CEO and president of Ford Italy, by Gaetano Cesarano, president of Uiga, the union of Italian automobile journalists.
Puma is currently the sales leader in the private segment with over 8,000 units sold in the first quarter of 2021. In relation to the current period, Faltoni reiterated that the car market is changing and the needs of a sector that needs a profound renewal both in terms of products and strategy. “It is necessary to focus on sustainability, but it is desirable that the government guarantees incentives for the renewal of infrastructures and the fleet”.
The total votes were 19,573. The rules of the Auto Europa award assign certain scores to the ranking defined by the voters on each card. The following reference percentage was applied to the final score attributed to each finalist by the various juries: Technical Jury (UIGA): 70%; Opinion Leader Jury, 20% and Popular Jury 10%.
