From Cultura Italiae a bill to include “sport” in the Constitution. Malagò first signatory: “Honored”

by admin

The word ‘sport’ among the fundamental principles of the Constitution. This is what the constitutional amendment bill promoted by the Associazione Cultura Italiae and presented at the meeting ‘Sport and Constitution: a possible combination’ at the Giunta del Coni meeting is intended. The aim is to make sport the object of promotion by the Republic through its inclusion in Article 9 where the Fundamental Charter states: “The Republic promotes the development of culture and scientific and technical research”.

The press conference was attended, among others, by the president of Coni, Giovanni Malagò, who said he was “honored to be the first signatory of this petition. It is not so obvious that there is such a transversal sharing – he said -. After the Second World War there were many things to clarify and at that moment there were other priorities, otherwise it is not explained why the word ‘sport’ was not declined in all its forms in the Fundamental Charter. Never before has sport been a central element of our life as in this era. We hope to go checkers as soon as possible ».

The president of Cultura Italiae, Angelo Argento, underlined: «The world of sport is fundamental because sport is culture. It has often served to overcome crises more than any other tool. It is shameful that there is not yet this recognition within our Mother Charter. In front of this issue there are no parties: we ask the legislator to add himself to the first 12 articles of the Constitution, because sport has saved this country ». On the introduction of the word ‘Sport’ in the Constitution, all the exponents of the political arc also agreed, Senators Claudio Barbaro (FdI), Caterina Biti (PD), Davide Faraone (IV), Vincenzo Garruti (M5S) ), Emanuele Pellegrini (Lega), Francesco Maria Giro and Giusi Versace (Forza Italia), and Mauro Berruto from the PD Secretariat.
