The director of “Repubblica” and editorial director of GEDI Maurizio Molinari today outlined some decisive steps in the Group’s strategy on the world of fashion and women, with the aim of gaining market leadership in a fundamental sector in the Italian context.

From 1 November Emanuele Farneti was hired by “Repubblica” as manager of the magazine D and the site D.it, at the same time taking on the role of director of the Fashion and Beauty content hub. Farneti brings to la Repubblica and GEDI a unique heritage of quality and competence on the magazine market, both for women and for men, gained over the years, including the direction of Vogue Italia.

At his side will be Simona Movilia, co-director of both the aforementioned publications, with whom he will share a growth and strengthening project based on innovation and competition, to ensure GEDI a leadership role in this crucial sector of the national information market.

The tandem between Farneti and Movilia combines the experience of a great professional with the remarkable competence of a journalist who in the last 18 months has managed to innovate the position of Repubblica and GEDI in the women’s media.

Valeria Palermi will leave her position as manager of D on October 31, becoming, starting from November 1, a correspondent for Repubblica on the issues of society and customs. The management and the company have addressed particular thanks to her for having made D a protagonist of women’s information in Italy, obtaining results of great value.

The editorial director Molinari said: “The arrival of a” magazine maker “like Emanuele Farneti, assisted by a highly talented professional like Simona Movilia, strengthens the leadership role of the Gedi Group in the creation of quality content on every platform, paper and digital, combining old craft and innovation. “
