GeoTrade, a new geopolitics and foreign trade magazine

by admin

At a time when newspapers appear to be in retreat, a new magazine was born in the Italian publishing landscape, dedicated to the impact of geopolitics on foreign trade. GeoTrade, published by Rubbettino, is the new magazine of AWOS – A World of Sanctions, a study center that promotes discussions between companies and institutions on international sanctions, export control regimes and restrictions on foreign trade. GeoTrade, a paper-based quarterly specialist magazine, is a unique editorial project on the Italian market, dedicated to the increasingly topical issue of the impact of geopolitics and state decisions on the economic world through restrictions and trade wars. It is particularly focused on the geopolitical events and scenarios that determine the different forms of restrictive measures (towards subjects and products), embargoes and Pase risk, economic and financial sanctions, export control and trade compliance (rules for release for consumption , compliance and product safety).

Thus the editor of the magazine Paolo Quercia, professor of strategic studies at the University of Perugia: «GeoTrade was born from the meeting of different worlds: business, economics, geopolitics, strategic studies, finance, international security, academia, law, politics and institutions. The goal is to unite the stakeholders of sanctions and other forms of restrictions, to follow the policy making paths at European and international level, to produce geopolitical and technical-scientific analysis of decision-making support for companies and institutions ».

Zeno Poggi, president of AWOS: «The competitiveness of the country-system and of companies in global markets also depends on the construction of a shared culture of compliance, in an international context in which protectionism and restrictions proliferate. In building this culture AWOS, now also through GeoTrade, can contribute to helping companies to face the challenges posed by this world of sanctions ».
