Gianni Neberti, former councilor in Saluzzo and correspondent for La Stampa, died

Mourning in Saluzzo for the death of Gianni Neberti. 70 years old, he had been a councilor and journalist, as well as being a great lover of history and philately. He was born in Saluzzo on May 9, 1951. Graduated in Law from the University of Turin, he had worked in the administration of the San Chiaffredo retirement home in Revello and held the position of Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Saluzzo for two terms, from 1975 to 1980 and from 1982 to 1985.

He was a member of the Cassa di Risparmio di Saluzzo Foundation and of the Society of Historical Studies of the Province of Cuneo. A freelance journalist, he collaborated with the newspaper «La Stampa» as a correspondent for Saluzzo, as well as some local weeklies and magazines. He also wrote for the philatelic periodical “Inform Unione”. Neberti was part of the board of directors of the philatelic and numismatic circle Bodoni di Saluzzo, taking care of various initiatives and exhibitions. It had also been one of the founders of the historic group of the Marquisate of Saluzzo and of the Amici della Musica association. For years he was part of the committee for the organization of the Saluzzo Carnival. He had been secretary of the Revello retirement home until his retirement a couple of years ago. He leaves his wife Patrizia Frusso and daughters Elena and Francesca, councilor for productive activities of the Municipality of Saluzzo. The funeral will take place on Friday 21 January, at 3 pm, in the Cathedral in Saluzzo.
