Not just showrooms and virtual meetings between companies in the sector and shop owners and operators: Mido 2021, the digital edition of the most important European event dedicated to the eyewear industry, is hosting reflections, meetings and analyzes on the changes taking place, post Covid, and on relations with the world of fashion and design.

Fashion, design and young talents

On Sunday 6 June two fundamental aspects of eyewear will be touched: fashion and design, through the comparison of young talents. There will be appointments with the trend analysis company Wgsn, which will present the Future Consumer 2022, Millennial and Genx Priorities, The Future Shopper and Eyewear Trends studies. A particular focus is dedicated to eco-sustainable materials thanks to the contribution of Materially, a company and web platform specialized in consulting on innovative materials.

From 2022 the fair is back in attendance

2020 was a difficult year for Italian eyewear, which exports over 90% of its production, but Giovanni Vitaloni, president of Mido and the sector association Anfao, looks to the future with cautious optimism and in particular to the 2022 edition. of the fair, which will take place in attendance from 12 to 14 February next year. “We have conceived the virtual Mido and the B2B platform, active since May 28 – adds Giovanni Vitaloni – as crucial hubs to maintain and grow, in such a complex moment, one of the most strategic sectors for the Italian economy”.
