Gm and Honda attack by Tesla

ROME – General Motors and Honda attack Tesla’s dominance. The two groups have in fact declared that they will develop a series of low-cost electric vehicles based on a new joint platform, with a potential production goal of one million cars by 2027.

The new plans build on GM’s earlier decision to begin building two electric SUVs for Honda starting in 2024: the Honda Prologue and an Acura model. The automakers said the new deal is for “affordable” electric vehicles, including compact crossover vehicles, built using GM’s Ultium batteries. Compact crossovers are the largest automotive industry in the world with annual volumes of more than 13 million vehicles, the companies said.

GM and Honda will also discuss future battery technology collaboration for electric vehicles in an effort to cut costs.
