Green Friday Suzuki, Japanese cherry trees sprout all over Italy

by admin

ROME – On the occasion of the “National Tree Day”, Suzuki Italia has committed to allocate 0.5% of the turnover of its car, motorcycle and marine sales on Friday 26 November 2021 (the famous “Black Friday”) to ‘purchase of trees, and thanks to the purchases made during the day, 9,200 euros were raised for the “Green Friday” project. The funds raised will thus be used to purchase Japanese cherry trees, the famous “sakura”, or the iconic trees with pink and white flowers, which will be donated and planted by next March in the Municipality of Turin (at whose doors the headquarters is located Suzuki), a city twinned with Nagoya, the main metropolis in the area of Suzuki’s headquarters in Hamamatsu, Japan. Over two hundred dealers from the national network belonging to the car, motorcycle and marine divisions have joined the initiative in favor of the environment and, together with Suzuki Italia, have planted at least one Japanese cherry tree in a park located in the immediate vicinity.

Overall, therefore, Suzuki Italia and its network will create an ideal diffused forest, bringing the colors of Japanese vegetation and a breath of fresh air to many cities. In addition to the positive impact on air quality, in spring there will also be the extraordinary spectacle that the typical pink flowering of these cherry trees can offer. It should be noted that this suggestive phenomenon is considered a very important event in Japan and is celebrated with the hanami, an almost ritual contemplation of this wonder of nature, which for the house of Hamamatsu holds an even deeper value. “If looked at in its uniqueness, the cherry blossom is beautiful, but not as grandiose as an entire cherry tree in bloom – they point out to the headquarters – This means that alone you cannot achieve the same results that you achieve as a team. , a principle dear to Japanese culture and in particular to Suzuki’s sporting and business history ”.
