Gtx, the sporty signature of Volkswagen electric

by admin

ROME – The high performance mobility of the future puts the X. With the ID.4 Gtx, on April 28 Volkswagen will present the first fully electric top sports model and subsequently, in the Old Continent, all the high-performance versions of the ID range will be identified by the Gtx logo. Thus, as happened for the Gti and Gte, the new abbreviation brings an unprecedented and smart sportiness from Volkswagen to the world of electric mobility. “The GT letters have long evoked driving pleasure – emphasized Klaus Zellmer, member of the Volkswagen brand board of directors responsible for marketing and sales – Now the X creates a link with the mobility of the future. Sustainability and sportsmanship are not mutually exclusive, but complement each other ”.

The GT models, in addition to the sporty design and the specific light signature, offer brilliant performance: an electric motor on the front axle introduces all-wheel drive into the ID range with maximum efficiency as the additional powertrain comes into operation intelligently, activating itself in milliseconds only when high performance or high traction is required. In the new Traction driving mode, on the other hand, all-wheel drive is always active. The new Gtx name for the ID range gives new vigor to the “Accelerate” strategy with which the Wolfsburg-based company aims to become the most attractive brand for sustainable mobility. The goal is to increase the share of pure electric cars in Europe up to 70% of sales by 2030 and to have a climate neutral impact by 2050. For the application of this plan, by 2025, they will be invested in electric mobility, hybridization and digitalization about sixteen billion euros. (mr)
