Hainan Daily News (Reporter Ang Ying) Recently, “Snow Cloud” directed by Hainan young director Wu Lang and starring Li Kangsheng and Li Meng was shortlisted for the main competition short film section of the 74th Cannes Film Festival. The film will have its world premiere during the 74th Cannes Film Festival and will compete with 9 other works for the Palme d’Or for best short film.
“Snow Cloud” is a love story film that takes place in Hainan. It mainly tells that on the way back to Yinggehai, a pair of former lovers did not explore the current situation of each other too much, and tacitly maintained everything in front of them. In the alternation of memories and reality, the film shows a process of reshaping a previous intimate relationship, and explores how people use past thoughts and emotions to face life.
The film was shot in Hainan throughout the whole process. The pictures are exquisite and beautiful, and the narration is relaxed and stretched. The 15-minute short film shows director Wu Lang’s mature image style and control ability.
