Herculaneum, eleven shots were fired against Giuseppe and Tullio: “The owner of the house wanted to kill”

A target practice. The suspicion was there and it was also strong, but only yesterday afternoon was it confirmed: the tragic death of the two boys from Portici, which took place the other night in Herculaneum, was not the result of a “personal error” or of an accident”. Thanks to video surveillance, in fact, it was possible to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the facts: a horror film. The shots show what the prosecutor Giovanni Melillo defined as “a conduct intentionally and without justification aimed at causing violent death”. Therefore, it was not a matter of shots fired at random “for fear that the thieves had returned”, as claimed by Vincenzo Palumbo, the owner of the dilapidated villa in front of which Giuseppe Fusella and Tullio Pagliaro had the misfortune to stop. . And in the recordings there is no trace of the elusive man “who wandered suspiciously outside the house and then took refuge in the car”, described to the investigators by the truck driver, who, instead, looked out and then went down to the street with the specific intention of firing. He took up the legally held gun – what is a hunter doing with a gun ?, the question that echoed for a long time yesterday – and with clarity and coldness he fired. There was no threat to him, no danger. Nor did he shoot in the air to intimidate the alleged rogues (an old car was stolen from him a few months ago). The sequence of the horror counts eleven shots (and not 4-5, as he repeated) all exploded aiming at the car of the young people, who, however, was moving away (evidently frightened by the weapon they tried to escape). The bullets went through the windshield and the roof (due to the slope of the road) of the Panda, tearing them apart. A Far West slaughter. The investigations then confirmed what had already appeared very evident: Giuseppe and Tullio – 26 and 27, working students, clean records – were two respectable boys, as were their families. And in fact the investigators did not find anything abnormal in the car, neither weapons nor burglary tools or anything else. The two friends had stopped there to talk and this was enough to have them sentenced to death. Sentence issued and executed by the 53-year-old hauler who has been in custody since yesterday, a provision that, as usual, awaits confirmation from the judge. Meanwhile, the prosecutor Melillo disclosed a note “because of the objective public interest in correct information related to the extraordinary social alarm for the facts for which one proceeds and the need to prevent the dissemination of incorrect and even imaginative information, however prejudicial to the further necessary course of preliminary investigations “. To the families and friends of the boys, understandably upset, yesterday Father Giorgio Pisano, the priest of the parish a few steps from the house of Tullio Pagliaro’s family, addressed: «Whoever has weapons then uses them. We are talking about pure injustice – he explained in an interview – and it is a bit of society that is conforming in this way. A culture aimed at eliminating the other has spread. It is not a question of moralism, but we also need a careful reading of our reality. It is a question of understanding that instinct that can sometimes lead to fatal consequences ». Words that try to give a possible answer to the question that has echoed in many quarters since yesterday: what has transformed an almost irreproachable truck driver (husband and beloved father) into an unscrupulous killer? –
