Here are the 20 fake news on the electric car

MILAN – Too many fake news on the electric car. This is why Jaguar-Land Rover presented the publication “How to Fight the No-Watts of the Car”, a fifty-page illustrated booklet that aims to expose twenty false news relating to battery-powered vehicles.

The fake news listed at number one: “nobody wants electric cars” is denied by the booklet with market numbers, which indicate that more electric cars are sold worldwide in a week today than in the whole of 2012. The publication closes fake news number twenty: “to preserve the batteries you always need to recharge them to 100%, wasting a lot of time”. The booklet responds by highlighting how, on the contrary, manufacturers recommend full recharging only if you really need it. Of particular interest are the false news numbers four and five, relating to the alleged impossibility of finding the energy necessary for recharging, when electric cars will be more widespread, and to the risk of battery fires. The booklet draws on the official data of Terna, the company responsible for the transmission and management of electricity flows in Italy, and deduces the absolute feasibility of energy coverage of a growing electric car fleet. As for fires, the publication refers to statistics from the American National Fire Protection Association, an authority in the sector worldwide, indicating a fire risk 64 times lower for electric cars compared to cars with traditional power supplies.

Scrolling through the overview of the twenty false news and the related reasoned explanations, you will find an answer to most of the most discussed points of the new energy scenario.

With the presentation of the publication “How to fight the No-Watts”, which in the title proposes an analogy between those who oppose electric cars and the No-vax movement, Jaguar Land Rover launches the E-ducation project, intended for customers of two brands that choose electric and plug-in hybrid cars. The project, presented at the ACI headquarters in Milan, aims to spread a correct knowledge of electrified technologies and aims to reach even within schools.

“Our group – says Marco Santucci, president of Jaguar Land Rover Italy – is strongly committed to the transition towards electrified technologies. We want to enable our customers of today and tomorrow to choose in a fully informed way “. Geronimo La Russa, president of Aci Milano, echoes him: “The dissemination of knowledge in the field of mobility is one of the primary purposes of Aci. Jaguar Land Rover’s E-ducation project goes in the right direction of a widespread awareness of new zero-emission technologies ”. The E-ducation project will start from the Jaguar Land Rover dealerships in the Lombardy area, and then reach the rest of the peninsula.
