HYPEBEAST has an exclusive interview with Hiroshi Fujiwara and talks about the latest collaboration series with Italian top wool brand Loro Piana

Hiroshi Fujiwara and Loro Piana, an Italian wool expert known as “Italian Hermès”, officially brought a new joint name. This collaboration is carried out in the name of Fujiwara Hiroshi, not fragment design. The two parties brought together a rich variety of knitwear, scarves, coats, coats, short boots, trousers, T-shirts, wool hats, etc. The design abandoned Fujiwara Hiroshi’s highly recognizable logo, aiming to return to the most essential of clothing. appearance.

To commemorate the release of this joint ride series, Hiroshi Fujiwara and HYPEBEAST conducted an exclusive interview and shared with us how to integrate his design language with Loro Piana’s design.

HYPEBEAST: I heard that this is the first time you have cooperated with other brands in your own name. Is this different from Fragment’s usual joint design?

Fujiwara Hiroshi: I didn’t deliberately think about this, but yes, this is the first time in history. Although everyone wants the Fragment logo, Loro Piana also appreciates the overall design of my past works, so this is their personal affirmation of me, not just the Fragment logo. And precisely because this is the first time in history, I have used this method to make this joint ride different.

HYPEBEAST: When they contacted you and offered to cooperate, what was your first thought? Do you usually wear Loro Piana designs?

Fujiwara Hiroshi: I have always bought their knitted sweaters. In fact, this is the second time they offered to cooperate with me, but I did not have enough confidence, so I immediately asked them “Do you think we can do it? What do you think of this matter?”. I even took the knitted sweater I was wearing to the meeting and told them that I like the fabric of that sweater.

HYPEBEAST: Are there any special themes in this series?

Fujiwara Hiroshi: I use Loro Piana’s most iconic fabrics to create a variety of clothing items that I have launched in the past. I have always wanted to use Loro Piana fabrics to design clothing. I was worried about whether they would refuse me to use some of my past design concepts, such as distressed sweaters. I am glad that they all accept it because the quality of distressed clothing made of Loro Piana fabric is very high.

HYPEBEAST: I noticed the word “Loro P” on the hat, why is there such a design?

Fujiwara Hiroshi: Because I have always referred to Loro Piana as “Loro P”, haha, but I can’t believe they really allow me to turn this title into a design detail!

The latest series of Fujiwara Hiroshi and Loro Piana will be launched soon. If you are interested, please pay close attention to HYPEBEAST’s report on the sale information.
