by admin

The concerts in the presence of the public restart, although in this final part of the season. So the Milanese Verdi Orchestra reopens its doors, between Mozart and Beethoven. Thus the Orchestra and Chorus of the Academy of S. Cecilia, in Rome; two programs in succession for the choir, very well laid out, between Rossini’s Paris and Brahms’s Vienna. But also the festivals beyond the Alps, like that of Pentecost, in Salzburg, where we immerse ourselves in the theatrical allegories of Handel, with Cecilia Bartoli.

Milano

On 19-20 at the Auditorium in Milan the concerts will resume with the audience of the Verdi Orchestra, with the conductor Krzysztof Urbański and the pianist Dejan Lazič. A tripartite program, which supports Mozart and Beethoven. We listen to the Concerto for K. 488 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in 1786 and among the most performed. The Coriolanus Overture, composed by Beethoven in 1807, in the emotional turmoil preceding the drafting of the Fifth Symphony, is quite different. The First Symphony, also by Beethoven, contrasts with this work; composition that still reflects the style of Mozart and Haydn. The Season continues until July 15th.

Roma

On the 22nd at the Auditorium Parco della Musica two concerts (at 5 and 7.30 pm) with the audience of the Choir of S. Cecilia, with its director Piero Monti. Two different and well-designed programs. In the first, entitled “An Italian in Paris – Rossini & C.”, we have fun with some of the “Péchés de vieillesse” that Rossini presented to friends in his house in Passy, from the “Petit train de plaisir” to the “Gondolieri”. The second program is instead an all-Brahms, between Vienna and Budapest, always with pieces written for a friend reunion, with leaders such as the “Liebeslieder-Walzer” and the “Zigeunerwalzer”.

Salzburg

From the 21st to the 24th the Whitsun Festival returns, after the stop 2020. The title chosen by the artistic director Cecilia Bartoli is “Roma Aeterna”. We remember in particular the two performances, on the 21st and 23rd, of the “Triumph of Time and Disillusion”, by Georg Friderich Händel, with Cecilia Bartoli, conductor Gianluca Capuano, directed by Robert Carsen; the orchestra are I Musiciens du Prince – Monaco. It is an oratory, written on a text by Cardinal Benedetto Pamphilj, but it has an evident theatricality.
