MILANO – We start from one fact: there is a non-abysmal percentage of Italians, about 22 percent, who, when buying a car, are ready to spend between 20,000 and 30,000 euros. A nice sum with which, browsing here and there on the net on used sites, it is possible to take a pretty good car to the garage. But who is the queen of the best-selling used cars online under 30,000 euros?
The answer is provided by a survey carried out by brumbrum, an accredited direct online car dealer in Italy, which even managed to draw up a top ten. And the ranking is clear: on the podium is the Jeep Renegade which beats another Jeep, the Compass, by over two percentage points. In third place Volkswagen with the Golf, winner among the sedans, a foreign brand that also grabs the fourth and fifth place with the Tiguan and the T-Roc.
Her Majesty Mercedes, with the A-Class, has to settle for sixth place instead, while the Audi A3 Sportback is even seventh. The Range Rover Evoque, the BMW X1 and the Peugeot 3008 close the top ten.
“Speaking of used car types, the crossovers win our ranking, thanks to the great results of the Jeep Renegade and Volkswagen T-Roc”, explain the analysts of brumbrum. “In second place the sedans are very far behind, while the SUVs close the podium, with many models placed well in the ranking”.
Apart from the segments to which they belong, transmission and power supply are also relevant in this ranking. Diesel beats petrol with 66% of sales against a shy 25%. Good results for hybrids and electric cars, which beat LPG and methane. Finally, as regards the gearbox preferred by the Italians, the automatic wins over the manual 6 to 4. (fp)
