“Jewels from Central Europe”, the music of Mozart and Dvorak in the ancient castle of Roppolo

The new appointment with the exhibition “Panorami Sonori”, organized by Nisi Arte e Musica at the Castle of Roppolo, is entitled “Jewels from Central Europe”. The theme of the concert, today at 6 pm, are two quartets, by Mozart and Dvorak, performed by Rebecca Viora on the flute and by the Trio Quodlibet (Vittorio Sebeglia on the violin, Virginia Luca on the viola and Fabio Fausone on the cello)

Mozart’s “Quartet in D major K 285” is a real gem of flute literature, which dominates in the three movements. The Adagio, with its melancholic melody, enhanced by the pizzicato of the strings, is one of the most beautiful pages of flute literature. The final Rondò is, on the other hand, one of the most demanding for the violinist, which accompanies the protagonism of the flute.

Written in 1893, in the years of the Bohemian composer’s maturity, Il «Quartetto op. 96 in F major “called” American “(in the version for flute and strings) is full of references to the musical and folkloric culture of the New World and presents all the stylistic features of Dvorak’s creativity: melodiousness, attention to popular sounds and frequent references to the musical tradition of his homeland.

The performance will be entrusted to an ensemble of young but already established talents. Rebecca Viora began studying the flute at the age of seven with Maestro Carlo Bosticco and at eleven she was awarded the special jury prize at the International Competition for Young Performers in Chieri. After graduating from the “Verdi” Conservatory in Turin, where he also obtained a solo master, his training continued at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena and at the Académie d’été de Nice in the class of Davide Formisano and Jean-Claude Gérard. In 2013, again with Formisano, he attended the High Specialization courses of the Perosi Academy in Biella. She currently works as a freelance: she is principal flute of the Master dei Talenti orchestra and of the Coccia Theater in Novara and she also appeared on TV, when she played some arias of «Aida» in an episode of Alberto Angela’s “Ulisse”.
