The live-action version of the Japanese classic manga, after the first episode was released in 2012, has now finally completed two episodes of “Rurouni Kenshin Final Chapter”.
As the name suggests, it is the finale of the series.
“Rurouni Kenshin Final Chapter The Final”, in addition to being shown in theaters in Japan, is directly broadcasted on Netflix worldwide. The first three “Rurouni Kenshin”, “Kyoto Fire” and “Legend Ending” are also included on the audio-visual platform. On, it may not be a good thing to satisfy the audience who have watched it and wanted to revisit it, but have not watched the “make up lesson” first.
What I don’t understand is that the other part of “Rurouni Kenshin Final Chapter The Beginning”, which joins Issey Takahashi, etc., is the finale of the story?
The disadvantage of the live-action version of comics and movies is that the target group is probably set as fans of the original. When a whole series is filmed, it is difficult for each work to exist independently, especially for non-comic fans, it may feel that the plot is fragmented.
It is only by relying on the vivid characters to bring the audience into the story.
“The Final” is 2 hours and 19 minutes, and the action scenes actually take up a lot of space, especially in the last 43 minutes, the characters take turns playing happily, can’t understand the plot, purely appreciate the action scenes, or feel wonderful.
In any case, for many anime fans, Takeru Sato is equivalent to the protagonist Kenshin Himura. Standing up and posing for a man, it revealed an erratic and indifferent sadness in his bones. It was already a “jianxin” upper body, and no extra acting skills were needed.
Actors and film series grow together
The world is changing unpredictably, and it is rare to see the original crew of the movie version return.
And the actors seem to grow up with the series of films in a subtle way. After Saki Takei got married and gave birth to a child, she calmed down a lot, and her temperament changed to suit the heroine. Although I was still impatient with her who was often a weak hostage while clearly teaching kendo in the play.

Eguchi Yokai is smoking cigarettes in the scene, and how happy he is to execute his belief in “evil, instant, and slash”. Aoi Yu’s insight into the world cannot be performed by others. I am very grateful to the drug-related Yusuke Iseya for not deleting the scene. His genius spy “Cangzi” is indeed stylish. Tsuchiya Taiho, who used to sell youth, has also improved his acting skills.
Kamiki Ryunosuke also suddenly appeared on the scene. Although it didn’t fit the plot, the filming with Sato Taken was so crazy that comic fans shouldn’t mind. Yes, according to the original setting, Shenmu should still be wandering around looking for the meaning of life at this time.
The most eye-catching part of “The Final” may be Makensuke Nitta, who is only 24 years old, but his acting skills and aura have not been compared. In the movie, she goes through hardships and devotes herself to revenge for her sister, and he does not hesitate to destroy a beautiful new world. The first half is weird and arrogant, which evokes unlimited imagination of the audience, but unfortunately the dead enemy in the second half is currently giving birth to the benevolence of women. After all, it is still not as good as the strongest villain of “The Great Fire of Kyoto” by Fujiwara Ryuichi who interprets “the master of the aesthetics of evil” Zhixiong.
Changing times, how to deal with oneself
You can think of “Rurouni Kenshin” as a story about knights, or you can expand the structure to watch the turbulent transition of the old and the new era, facing the turbulent fate in the torrent of history, how everyone deals with themselves or what choices they make.
The master of Kenshin, who is far from the world than Seijuro Fukuyama / Masaharu Fukuyama, is happy; Saitoichi / Yosuke Eguchi, who was once a new group, is able to integrate into the new era with ease. In order to create a new era, he became the legendary executioner “Dachizai”. Kenshin Himura is very sinful and it is not difficult to die. To live with a heavy sense of guilt is a tough battle for him.
Therefore, there was no room for murder, but after retiring from the arena, he held a counter-blade knife and vowed not to kill again. Saving people and the world is the way he chooses to redeem himself. It’s just that the enemy is currently, and it seems too stupid to see the creatures still insist on doing this.
“Let me see how you used that sword to cut off the hatred and let those imprisoned in the past move forward!” Kamiki Ryunosuke said to Takeru Sato in the movie, which is probably what the whole work wants to say the most.
Can love affect the world? Of course it doesn’t work in reality. This is just a great ideal that can only be achieved by a character with a strong protagonist’s halo protector in a fictional world. To put it bluntly, even if Jianxin uses an inverted blade, he can also knock down the enemy with one enemy and one hundred.
What Jianxin made the villain surrender was actually strength. After playing four movies, I finally saw the faint smile on the corner of his mouth. Put it down, move forward, and being alive is no longer a punishment for yourself.
You still want to believe it.
