SHANGHAI-Local singer Lin Junjie filed a lawsuit against a Chinese internet celebrity who repeatedly planted faces in the company behind offensive videos and video platforms to deceive him.
According to Tianyancha, a Chinese enterprise information application, Lin Xiaoyang, a user of Bilibili, the video platform behind the Guagua Martian account, is suing for “infringement of portrait rights.”
Xiao has been posing as Lin. He “changed” the singer’s face six times in the satirical video, mainly to make fun of him.
Xiao even installed Lin’s face on women on the singer’s birthday on March 27.
Lin, 40, also asked Shanghai Kuanyu Digital Technology, the company behind Bilibili, to publish Xiao’s account data, including his video plays, likes and shares, and video revenue.
Lin also asked Xiao to apologize publicly and asked Xiao to pay 275,000 yuan (S$57,000) in compensation.

Xiao responded to the lawsuit on social media: “Silence.”
He also responded to online rumors that he made 250,000 yuan in making these videos, claiming that he only made a few thousand yuan.
Xiao has deleted these videos from his platform and disabled commenting on some of them.
In early August, after the scandal of Chinese-Canadian singer Chris Wu who was arrested on rape charges, Lin quickly refuted the bad things about him.
A law firm hired by Lane’s brokerage firm has urged many netizens to delete these allegations and stop spreading false statements about him.
Earlier this month, he refuted rumors that he was suspected of launching a Covid-19 cluster after travelling from Singapore to Fujian Province, China, by posting photos on his social media accounts taken with friends in Singapore.
