Lamborghini Essenza, from the track to the video game

by admin

SANT’AGATA BOLOGNESE – Lamborghini is again the protagonist of a videogame. After the debut of the Huracán STO on the cross-platform Rocket League last April, now it’s the turn of the Essenza SCV12. The track hypercar produced in only 40 units, starting from 13 May will be on Asphalt 9: Legends, a free downloadable mobile video game that has recently exceeded one billion downloads.

The Asphalt production house, Gameloft, has chosen the car from the house of Toro both for its futuristic design and for its engine, the most powerful naturally aspirated 12-cylinder ever developed by Automobili Lamborghini, capable of generating over 830 hp. The Essenza SCV12 – a direct descendant of cars such as Miura Jota and Diablo GTR – was in fact designed by Squadra Corse a year ago to be driven only on the track: its buyers are part of a club for the lucky few that offers access to programs driving to drive your own hypercar in all the most prestigious circuits in the world.

But now with the arrival of this video game, the thrill of driving an SCV12 Essence extends to everyone. Sure, it’s not quite like racing on the track, but Asphalt’s definition and graphics provide a thrilling experience.

“In all the GT championships in which Lamborghinis run there is a digital version that allows real drivers and fans to have fun but also to gain experience through simulation on virtual circuits”, explains Giorgio Sanna, Head Of Motorsport at Automobili Lamborghini. . “Gaming certainly has a more playful and less realistic approach, however it is an important tool for making our cars known to the general public and to the new generations. This is why we are very happy that Essenza SCV12 has been chosen by Asphalt 9, allowing you to experience the thrill of getting behind the wheel of our track hypercar. “

On the video game it will be possible to choose between eight colors to set up your SCV12, and compete in the first mobile esports competition “Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 Challenge” which will be held in a group of three open qualifications: the first from 13 to 16 May, the second from 10 to 13 June and the third from 1 to 4 July. The best 100 will participate in the closed qualifications, which will be held from 5 to 8 August: the best eight will compete in the final, scheduled for 18 September. (fp)
