MILAN. Yet another black smoke, in the Lega Serie A assembly, on the adaptation of the statute to the guiding principles of Coni (as requested by the FIGC). From tomorrow, therefore, the ad acta commissioner, Gennaro Terracciano, who will have to draft the new document, will take office. In the next assembly, scheduled for March 3, the third vote will take place to elect the new president of the League, after the resignation of Paolo Dal Pino at the beginning of February. The names in the field, after Carlo Bonomi’s step backwards, would be those of Lorenzo Casini (head of the cabinet of the Ministry of Culture), Lorenzo Bini Smaghi (economist and former member of the Executive Committee of the ECB) and Mario Masi (former director general of the Rai).
The shortlist of candidates, according to what is learned, however, would be open. Being the third vote, the quorum for the election will drop from 14 to 11 votes out of the 20 Serie A clubs. In fact, in the first two votes, there was nothing: on 7 February there were 19 ballots white and two null; on February 15 instead 19 blank ballots and one vote for Bonomi.
