A story of family and shops

The brothers Denis and Roni Casagrande represent today the second generation. The first, in 1977, was “Belmondo”, a shoe shop opened by Ottavio and Angela Casagrande in Pieve di Soligo, in the province of Treviso. Roni Casagrande, the eldest of the two children, joins the company in 1984, his younger brother Denis follows him in 1994. In the same year, again in the Treviso town, a new store is inaugurated totally focused on the offer of clothing. which aims to satisfy a growing demand for increasingly selected and qualified products. The start is lightning fast and the synergy between the two stores generates a flywheel of requests that leads to an extension of the offer, including accessories.

Customers visit both stores to fully cover their shopping needs. A few years later, in 1998, stimulated by the requests of an increasingly numerous and demanding public, the Casagrandas started the works of an extension that laid the foundations for the construction of all the stores that will be opened in the following years. The turning point in the concept design of the stores takes place thanks to the meeting with Antonio Mastrorocco, founder and creative director of FutureNet. TheBelmondo has just acquired a commercial area of 1,000 square meters. in Conegliano and, thanks to Mastrorocco’s intervention, he experiments with first format based on adaptive reuse and upcycling of vintage industrial furniture, which becomes a corporate value and the guiding principle for the creation of all points of sale. For the inauguration in the window, mannequins are presented on the couch of a psychoanalyst, accompanied by the claim: Shopping Therapy.

In Belluno in the former bank vault

Today Stimm is a point of reference in the multi-brand retail sector for its ability to interpret and anticipate tastes and trends with an innovative and visionary approach. All the stores, unique and different from each other, adopt the adaptive reuse of vintage industrial furniture. It was the same for the last one to open, the Belluno store: 1,500 square meters on three floors in Palazzo Navasa-Colle, in the center, for a prestigious showcase which is also a contribution to the enhancement of the historic heart of the city.

The premises that house the last Stimm store in the eighteenth-century building occupy the areas of the vault, the ground floor and the hall of the previous headquarters of the Bank of Italy. This surface is part of the recovery, but also the fulcrum, of a large-scale real estate plan, worth about 40 million euros, created by Filù srl by the Chemello family and by F&C Project in which Chemello and Francavilla, historical managers of Luxottica, are involved. An initiative supported with enthusiasm also by local institutions for the revitalization of the city, an important tourist and commercial center, as well as a gateway to the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009.
