However, according to experiencers, this much-anticipated VR concert did not go as smoothly as imagined. First, in order to ensure a good performance, what the audience sees is actually a pre-recorded video. Although Xicheng Boys had previously broadcast live-streamed concerts for tens of millions of people for up to 2 hours through the WeChat video account, such large-scale live-streaming is not common in VR, and the technology is not mature enough.
However, even when playing the recorded video, many people said that they could not enter the client. Even if Venues was opened and entered the lobby, the application would crash. In order to enter the VR concert interface, someone tried for half an hour without success. Judging from the screenshots posted by netizens on Twitter, the online audience of the Foo Fighters concert once reached about 13,000, less than a quarter of the audience booked.
Although this VR concert is not a good experience for some people, it also shows that there are so many active people on Quest, and some people even posted on forums such as Reddit to discuss how to enter the concert.
