“The message of the fifth edition of Milan Music Week is clear: we need to go back to experiencing music and revitalizing music venues, which have been closed for too long, a reality that we cannot afford to lose: it would mean bringing down the entire music system. This is said by the radio host and music critic Luca de Gennaro, artistic director of the Milan Music Week, the Milanese week starting today and which until November 28 will bring meetings with artists, conferences and of course lots of live music to the city.
After the “virtual” edition of 2020, the club lights come on again: “It is no coincidence that a place like Apollo has been chosen as a reference point, which will be our home for a week. the appointments in the morning and most of the cycle “Mmw meets.” Of course – explains de Gennaro – the experience of last year, half a million contacts in seven days, has taught us that the streaming mode must be maintained, while pairing it with the normal live enjoyment of the events, as in the case of the MMW cycle meets “.
The reference is to the format that best represents Milan Music Week, that is, the meetings with musicians. Which are not just any encounters. Starting with the one with Vasco Rossi – fresh from the new album “We are here” – which this morning inaugurates the review (12 noon and in rerun at 21 only on www.milanomusicweek.it). In the afternoon, an interview with Loredana Berté is also scheduled (5.30 pm, Apollo, via Giosué Borsi 9 and in streaming). It will then continue, among others, with the unprecedented duo Caparezza-Rancore (Tuesday at 6.30 pm), with Caterina Caselli (Wednesday at 5.15 pm), Mecna (Thursday at 6.30 pm) and Ornella Vanoni (Friday at 6.30 pm) , 30).
