Mobilize, beyond the car. Guarantees Renault

by admin

ROME – The path chosen by Renault to be a protagonist in the new mobility goes beyond the car, but also includes the launch of new models. The new Mobilize brand, launched at the beginning of the year by the number one of the Luca De Meo group, has the task of offering innovative solutions for the management of mobility, energy and the growing flow of data but will also have a range of vehicles with its own brand, designed and built for new needs.

Mobility, energy and data are three fields of action that were once separate and now increasingly interconnected. Mobilize has the task of developing solutions, in these three areas, capable of responding to the needs of individuals, companies, local administrations and accelerating the energy transition.
Italy is the first international country in which the Renault group has activated a dedicated structure for the new brand. The manager of Mobilize Italia is Edmondo Pietranera, back in the car after experiences in telecommunications and a recent past in the narrowest sector to interpret, data management: “The zero that is recognized in the brand is the guiding element of the activities of Mobilize – he explains – and the three areas of mobility, energy and data are essential to cancel emissions. The ability to make the best use of the enormous flow of data generated by each application is the key to providing truly innovative services and increasing customer value “.
In each of the sectors, Mobilize is about to launch products clearly identified by its orange brand.

As for the new mobility, Mobilize will launch its own brand models dedicated to specific uses, all with electric traction. The first Purpose designed vehicls to arrive on the market will be the Mobilize Limo, a car designed for taxis, rental with driver and shared rides. The model is the result of the collaboration between Renault and the Chinese Jialing Motors; will arrive on the market from next year exclusively with subscription formulas for passenger transport professionals. Three other electric models arriving in rapid sequence, from 2023 onwards, are the Mobilize Duo (two-seater vehicle for urban car sharing), the Mobilize Bento (dedicated to the delivery of goods and the movement of craftsmen and maintenance workers in the city) and the Mobilize Hippo, which with squared bodywork and nice lines wants to offer a modular solution to freight transport and logistics.
While waiting for the new vehicles, Mobilize Italia has launched its first electric car sharing service in Bergamo (after a pilot project in Mirandola, near Modena), in collaboration with the local Renault dealer. The rate is based exclusively on time, with no kilometer limits and with a Station based formula (cars are collected and returned to the same parking lot). “Our car sharing – explains Edmondo Pietranera – will soon be available in other medium-sized cities, with zero-emission cars and a Station based model, which allows you to avoid parking problems, guarantee maximum maintenance and correct battery charging” .

The energy sector is largely new to the French group. In this area, Mobilize makes second-life batteries – abandoned by electric cars but still good for stationary use – the heart of its business. A modular storage system will be offered to households and companies as an uninterruptible power supply, or as a storage system for photovoltaic systems. Mobilize Power Systems is also developing formulas for the diffusion of domestic wallboxes for charging electric vehicles and the Mobilize Charge Pass, dedicated to accessing the European network of public charging stations.
The business area relating to data management has not yet been disclosed in detail. The applications that Mobilize works on are in fields deemed universally crucial such as Big data, vehicle connectivity and the Internet of Things. Obviously in the emerging context of smart cities. A world to be explored and – to a large extent – still to be built.
