“Batman” is a gripping, gorgeous, and somewhat terrifying psychological crime thriller with Bruce Wayne back as a detective. Robert Pattinson’s Batman is great, but Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman and Paul Dano’s The Riddler are even more in the limelight. Catwoman has a moving performance, Riddler is unhinged and terrifying. Matt Reeves managed to make a Batman movie that is completely different from other live-action movies, but stays true to Gotham City lore. Eventually earned the iconic character’s place in the series.
