MILAN – Good intentions for the holidays and for those who want not to give up on comfort, here comes Polydrop P17A, the camping trailer optimized for towing electric vehicles. Introduction, in recent times the trailer sector, to be used in conjunction with a vehicle powered by batteries, is growing more and more and the Californian startup Polydrops, since 2019, has been committed to developing this segment.

If you look closely at the caravan, the lines resemble those of the Cybertruck, but it has nothing to do with the Tesla vehicle, it’s just a coincidence. Specifically, the manufacturer reiterated that the design is the result of a study to facilitate and maximize the aerodynamics of the vehicle, so that it affects its autonomy as little as possible.

Let’s see specifically the characteristics. P17A is one of a kind, the aluminum frame is designed and shaped using the aerodynamic parameters calculated and applied to manufacture the hypercars, including doors that adopt gullwing opening. The roof is covered with solar panels that generate up to 520 watts of power. While, the lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) power supply is incorporated into the trailer floor. The battery pack is available in three storage capacities, namely: 2,4; 4.8 and 12 kWh. In particular, for the latter installed, the company announces that it is able to remain without a network for up to six days despite the air conditioning or the heating depending on the outside temperatures. Compared to other trailers, it is possible to choose as an option to install an electric cooker equipped with an induction plate and a fridge with a capacity of 20 liters.
