Revolution at Etro: Marco De Vincenzo appointed creative director for all collections

Etro changes pace: starting from June 1st, the stylist Marco De Vincenzo will be the creative director of all the lines of the maison, therefore for men, women and home. Until now it was the Etro brothers, Kean and Veronica, who led the style of the collections of the family brand, founded by their father Gerolamo in 1968 in Milan. Together with the other brother Jacopo, a company note reads, “they confirm the collaboration with the maison to continue the development strategy of the brand in partnership with L Catterton”.

The choice is part of the plan for the new ownership, the private equity fund born from the alliance between Catterton, LVMH and Bernard Arnault, which took over the majority of the company in July 2021, after months of rumors, for an overall assessment of approximately 500 million euros. In September Fabrizio Cardinali joined the company as the new CEO, after experiences with Dolce & Gabbana and Richemont: «As part of the new course of the brand, we enthusiastically welcome the entry of Marco De Vincenzo – commented Cardinali -. Thanks to his sensitivity for colors, prints and fabrics, we are sure that Marco will be able to best interpret the extraordinary heritage of Etro with new variations for the different collections of the brand, also giving a new impulse to the world of accessories “.

The debut of Marco De Vincenzo as the stylistic guide of the maison will take place with the women’s collection SS 2023, therefore during the next edition of Milano Moda Donna, in September 2022.

Marco De Vincenzo, born in Messina in 1978, graduated from the European Institute of Design in Rome in 2000. After a long collaboration with Fendi for the accessory lines, he launched his eponymous line of women’s prêt-à-porter in 2009, the year in which he was awarded the first prize of the competition for new talents “Who is on Next?” organized by Altaroma in collaboration with Vogue Italia.
