ROME – The cars of yesterday, today and tomorrow. All together in the same Aci sport regularity race. The best Italian crews in the discipline battled it out at the San Marino Revival, the fourth round of the Italian Championship. Together with them – on the same route and with the same tests – cars with alternative propulsions: bifuel, electric, hybrid, competed in the Ecorally Green cup. Over fifty measurements with pressure switches to the hundredth of a second, along 150 kilometers of ups and downs around Monte Titano.
It is enough to scroll through the final classification to realize that at the Revival it was the Fiat Balilla 508C that dominated: three of the first four classified. Guido Barcella and Ombretta Guidotti of Scuderia Tazio Nuvolari won. Seconds Alberto and Federico Riboldi, father and son. Quarters Andrea Belometti and Doriano Vavassori. The Autobianchi Abarth A112 of Nicola Barcella, son of the winner, entered third place among many Balilla.
The ranking of the Ecorally Green Cup is also curious. The third step of the podium was conquered by the Toyota Hybrid of Lukasz Nytko and Artur Najder. The electric Opel Corsa of the spouses Andrea Cajani and Valentina Pitacco finished second. The Lancia Ypsilon LPG brought to the race by journalists Roberto Chiodi and Lorenzo Gennari won the “Alternative Energy” classification. To which – obviously – also the coveted prize of the Press ranking, reserved for information operators.
