Sea on words, after Soldini comes Pelizzari

Meetings related to the sea. Rrd-Roberto Ricci Designs promotes “Sea on words – Parole da aMare”, an exhibition that wants to explore the link between ocean and literature and encourage the culture of the sea. It began in 2016 when the company launched an editorial project through the re-edition of famous titles of works that have the sea as a source of inspiration. Twice a year limited editions are made, also enriched by special contributions, which are then given to customers. Now, the next step is to compare the great classics of literature with sportsmen who have made their habitat of the sea.

The calendar was opened with Giovanni Soldini, the second appointment is with the freediver Umberto Pelizzari, on April 22 at the Rrd showroom in Milan (in via Tortona 31/7, 7 pm). Pellizzari, 16 world titles from his, will talk with the curator of the review Niccolò Maria Santi: we will talk about freediving, of course, but also about inner strength and the sample’s biography “With the strength of breath” will be exchanged with “Twenty thousand leagues under the seas ”by Jules Verne. “They often ask me what there is to see over there. Perhaps the only possible answer is that you don’t go free diving to see, but to look inside, ”says Pelizzari.

The mission

I would like to point out that Rrd has reissued the Verne longseller in a limited edition. “My goal is to invite as many people as possible to get closer to the beauty of the sea and the thrill of discovery. And the books represent the most compelling road that leads to adventure – explains Roberto Ricci, founder of Rrd – Roberto Ricci Designs – I think of the words of Herman Melville, Rudyard Kipling, Jack London, Jules Verne, Joseph Conrad, authors who are part of our necklace and that embody the spirit that animates our company “. And again, on the exhibition: “Meeting modern” heroes “such as Giovanni Soldini and Umberto Pelizzari makes true the feeling of attraction that one feels in front of the oceans. We thus intend to promote a culture of the sea that passes from feeling to concrete gestures of safeguarding and protection in order not to lose that sense of wonder in the face of uncontaminated scenarios. “
