Single Review: Potato Beach – Love Signs

(c) Luca Celine

Potato Beach from Vienna find their great inspiration in the sound of the 60s. Your new single Love Signs combines musical styles that had their heyday in the golden 60s: Psych, Garage, Surf and Motown. Potato Beach also draw inspiration from more modern retro bands like La Luz.

Created in 2020 as a solo project by Jannik Rieß, the band consists of: Lilian Kaufmann, known from Zinn and Schapka; Peter Mathis (Peter The Human Boy), Anja Pöttinger (Atom Womb) and Sven Limprecht. After an EP was released on the Human Music label Love Signs now on Siluh Records.

Instrumentally, there are also psychedelic organ sounds and, as a special highlight, the tambourine, which was popular in the 60s.

»Dip In« Potato Beach’s debut album will be released on March 15, 2024 on Siluh Records.
